More Ways to Support the Library
There are many ways to benefit the Library through contributions. As a charitable nonprofit, Friends & Foundation, SHPL can receive gifts via instruments that may offer special tax benefits. To learn more about ways to sustain the Library, please write to Friends@shplFoundation.org. For better understanding of your specific tax benefits, please contact a financial advisor, estate planner or tax professional.
DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS
Strategically establish a donor-advised fund with a third party, then direct grants of any amount from your donor-advised fund to Friends & Foundation, SHPL.
INVESTMENTS AND
RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS
Donate directly from investments including retirement accounts such as IRAs. Donors often give charities the highly-appreciated elements of their portfolios. Donors may give directly to charities their IRA's required minimum distributions (RMDs),
or any sum.
BEQUESTS
Donate through planned gifts.

TRIBUTE GIFTS
Celebrating, remembering, and honoring the people and organizations you cherish is easy to do. When you make a gift of any amount, add to the note field on your check or in the digital payment process either in Honor of [name of person(s)] or in Memory of [name of person(s)]. If you include contact information, the tribute's focus or their representative will be informed of the tribute gift. In addition, Friends & Foundation recognize the donor and the subject of tribute gifts in public facing materials. ​​
Your Donations Can Pave the Path
Custom-made inscribed bricks greet visitors at the Library's entrance. The bricks convey names of appreciative past and current patrons, and names of those who have been honored, remembered, and celebrated by donors who contribute $3000 or greater in an individual gift.
